As the general manager for eCG Benelux, Olivier van Duijn is responsible for the leading classifieds sites in the Netherlands (Marktplaats) and Belgium (2dehands.be and 2ememain.be, both acquired in 2013). Under Olivier’s guidance, Marktplaats and 2dehands are successfully claiming their roles as the main centers of commerce in the Benelux, enabling trade between millions of sellers and buyers by creating a broad and diverse shopping experience on all relevant platforms. “Creating opportunities for consumers and businesses” is the focal point in Olivier’s mission. Olivier brings a wealth of online experience, having been involved in the founding and rapid growth of Funda.nl, the leading Dutch real estate platform. Prior to joining eBay in 2010, Olivier took on a variety of strategic roles within Reed Elsevier, establishing online recruitment platforms in the Netherlands, Germany and England, after fulfilling several management positions within KPN Telecom, the market leader among Dutch telco’s.

Olivier holds a Master’s degree in Economy from the Amsterdam Vrije Universiteit. He lives in Amsterdam with his wife and two daughters. In his spare time he enjoys reading and writing about History and is active in a variety of sports.
