With the launch of the new online classifieds site, eBay is continuing to focus on growth. “Our goal is to make eBay Kleinanzeigen synonymous with online classifieds trade in Germany,” says Jacob Aqraou, General Manager of the international eBay Classifieds Group, which is responsible for the development of eBay’s classified business worldwide. eBay Kleinanzeigen is seen as an investment in future growth and reflects eBay’s strategy of offering multiple online trading formats. “The worldwide online classifieds market has a potential of 22 billion U.S. dollars, and as the top player we want to continue to innovate to meet customer needs”, says Aqraou.

eBay Kleinanzeigen is free, easy to use and offers a large selection of items for sale in local areas. Customer do not need to register, and can place an ad in less than two minutes.

Tim Hilpert, General Manager of eBay Kleinanzeigen Germany: “Customers can either buy or sell products in their region and can close deals in person, face-to-face. This is particular convenient for people who want to buy bulky goods such as refrigerators or sofas, for example.”

The selection not only includes products, but also jobs, community assistance and a pet category. At launch, www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de will already offer multiple items for sale as it will carry existing listings from eBay’s classified subsidiary, Kijiji.de, which has 6 million visits
