THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy & Marketing Marktplaats Media, the Strategy & Operations Manager will take on a key role within the Marktplaats Media team. Using your strong leadership ability, problem solving skills and outstanding business sense, you will lead a team of AdOperations Specialists and drive Commercial Strategy and Business Development for Marktplaats Media.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Strategy
• Defining and presenting a solid business-strategy for Marktplaats Media
• Closely work together with Marktplaats senior management to set sales targets and determine reward systems
• Throughout the year drive results and optimize processes to deliver on strategy
**Leads and further develops the AdOperations Team **
• Lead in house AdOperations team. Manage performance and team development
• Guide ongoing projects within Operations
• Manage external traffic partner
Financial Planning and Business Analytics
• Financial planning and reporting including budget analysis and forecasting
• Prepare regular business reviews for management
• Liaise with CRM-team for software upgrades
• Provide team with business and market data for fact-based decision making and efficient sales approach and presentations
Business Development
• Manage and further develop full advertising portfolio (incl. pricing and yield management)
• Identify and implement new revenue opportunities.
• Initiate and manage relationships with external partners and technology providers.
• Liaise with and guide internal stakeholders, product (development) managers
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will come from an online or media consultancy background, with both financial and business development experience. You will have a strong affinity for on-line and are looking for concept execution.
In addition to the above, we are looking for the following qualities:
• Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 5 years working experience
• Background in media is essential
• Analytical rigor and great problem solving skills
• Ability to define a solid Strategy
• Excellent business sense
• Extensive experience of delivering presentations
• Problem solving & influencing skills
• Project, Partner, Supplier mgmt experience
• Product management and development skills
• Leadership and people management
• Application management:
o Process (re-)design
o Dbase thinking and querying
o functionality writing for CRM
o AdServing
o Payments
• Software skills: Excel, PPT, Access or MySQL
• Fluency in both Dutch and English
